Story

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend is one of the UK’s biggest live music moments of the year. The scale is huge, the talent is world-class, and every moving part has to land perfectly.

We were across all licensing and site planning to bring this festival to a venue that hadn’t hosted anything of this size before. We also worked closely with the local council and wider stakeholders to make sure our sustainability standards were as high as they possibly could be.

With the entire weekend broadcast live, there’s no room for error. The show itself is full of standout moments, including surprise sets from major names like Ed Sheeran. It’s one of those festivals where anything can happen, and often does.

We had a team of over 60+ on site, covering everything from technical production through to guest list management and accessibility. But for us, the focus was always on guest experience and making sure that every single person on site, whether backstage or front of house, had the best time possible.

From the minute gates opened to the final track of the final set, the atmosphere didn’t let up. The crowd gave as much as the artists, and it was a real privilege to be part of making that happen.
