Newcastle United F.C.’s victory in the Carabao Cup was a historic moment, marking their first major domestic trophy in 70 years. To honour this achievement, the club organised a city-wide celebration, including a parade through the streets of Newcastle that culminated in a large-scale event attended by 150,000 fans and broadcast live on Sky TV. With just ten days to go, Far and Beyond was brought in to collaborate with the local team and oversee technical production, talent liaison and broadcast management.
The celebration featured appearances from manager Eddie Howe and a cup presentation with the Newcastle United F.C. squad, alongside club legends Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, and Bob Moncur, who addressed the crowd. Television presenters Ant and Dec led the event, sharing their long-standing support for the club. The show culminated in a breathtaking finale, with 500 synchronised drones illuminating the Newcastle skyline.
Given the last-minute nature and scale of the event, stakeholder management was critical. The team worked closely with the local council and key partners to ensure seamless execution, navigating logistical challenges while delivering an unforgettable experience for fans and viewers alike.
